Welcome to North Texas AOSA
What is Orff Schulwerk?
It is a music education approach in which students are guided through a process of musical development using speech, singing, moving, and playing instruments as learning tools. Composer Carl Orff and his associate Gunild Keetman evolved the philosophy and processes of this unique approach, which places much importance on improvisation and creation.
The North Texas Chapter is a group of over 150 music instructors, mostly in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, who use this approach in their classrooms and studios. We provide Saturday workshops with nationally known Orff Schulwerk clinicians to present methods for using the Orff-Schulwerk process with students of all ages.
We are delighted that you have found your way to this website, and we invite you to join us for our upcoming workshops! Please visit the News section to discover the latest happenings, and visit our Workshops page to see the current lineup of terrific presenters coming to share with us! We are a local chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. We encourage you to not only get involved with our local chapter, but to support AOSA. Our parent organization has MUCH to offer. You can learn more about it in the About section of our site or visit AOSA directly here.
