David currently teaches in the Richardson School District at Canyon Creek and Northrich Elementary Schools, where he has taught for more than 30 years. He holds Bachelor’s and Master of Music degrees from Baylor University, with double concentrations in both voice and piano. He has completed both Kodaly (from the University of North Texas) and Orff certifications (from the University of St. Thomas) and the Orff master class (also from the University of St. Thomas). He is a member of both TMEA and AOSA. He has presented at the North Texas Chapter of AOSA, where he has served as an officer for the last four years. CCE’s performing instrumental group Musik-Spiel, which Mr. Parrish founded five years ago, has performed at the Excellence in Education banquet and at the Richardson Rotary Club. Mr. Parrish has been active as a vocal soloist and keyboardist over the years at several churches, where he has led worship services and directed both adult and youth choirs.
David has been married for 25+ years to the same wonderful wife, has two daughters and two dogs with whom he loves spending time, and enjoys composing/playing/performing/listening to music, gardening, reading, cooking, hiking, traveling, tea, and (when possible) sailing.
